Square Enix counts on the successes of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and additions to Final Fantasy 14

Square Enix has published a transcript of questions and answers from the last conference on financial results in which the new general director Takashi Kirya spoke about the business and plans of the publishing house.

From this document we learn that sales of the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are the largest variable, on which the ability of Square Enix depends to achieve the target indicator of the annual operating profit (55 billion yen, or a little more than $ 371 billion at the current rate).

Since the reviews for the game are currently very good, Square Enix expects it to make a significant contribution to income in the current quarter. Thanks to synergy with the game, the company also expects good indicators from the Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, which in March will also celebrate a six -month anniversary.

Square Enix also hopes for the higher Final Fantasy XIV indicators thanks to the festival of fans in Tokyo Dome. According to the company, this will gradually increase the excitement before the expansion of Dawntrail, which will be released in the summer of 2024.

Earlier, during the conference, Mr. Kiryu explained that although in the first half of the financial year the income from the game decreased compared to the previous two years due to the lull in the operating cycle, the indicators of the MMO subsection are still considered high.

Given all the information presented at the festivals of fans in Las Vegas and London, Square Enix expects that the excitement caused by the extension will lead to good indicators in the future.

Mr. Kiryu also noted that progress in achieving the goal of income for the whole year corresponds to expectations, and the release of PC versions and DLC for the Final Fantasy 16 is aimed at maximizing the sale of the game within 18 months.

Mr. Kiryu also admitted that Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest the Adventure of Dai was stiffly criticized, as well as the fact that the game has problems. Square Enix believes that the cause of failure was the time gap with the output of the anime and the difference between the declared characteristics of the game and what the buyers received.

Interestingly, Square Enix began to take into account the reviews of customers in the process of development who played her games for smart devices before exit. Now the company is working to do the same for its games for consoles and PC, taking into account customer reviews at the initial stages of development.Square Enix is counting on the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth to achieve the target indicator of annual profit
